Attic Insulation
Attic spray foam insulation seals the leaks that push heat out of the top of a house and keeps upstairs rooms comfortable all year.
View Attic InsulationWoodstock Spray Foam Insulation installs spray foam insulation in exterior walls, knee walls and interior walls across Woodstock and Oxford County. Spray foam fills the whole stud cavity, seals the gaps around wiring and outlets, and stops the drafts that batts let through. All of our work is fully insured, and every estimate is free and in writing.
Wall spray foam is sprayed into open framing. That makes it the right fit for new construction, additions, basement framing and renovations where the drywall or plaster is already off.
We seal them. Most of the heat lost through a wall does not pass through the insulation itself. It escapes through air leaks at the top and bottom of the wall, around windows and doors, and at every electrical box. Spray foam insulation bonds to the studs and the sheathing, so those leaks are closed in the same pass that insulates the wall.
Cold winter wind blows across the open farmland around Woodstock, and a leaky wall on the windy side of a house is where you feel it first. A sealed wall keeps each room at an even temperature and lets the furnace run less often.
Closed-cell spray foam is the usual choice for exterior walls. It gives about R-6 to R-7 per inch, it adds stiffness to the wall, and at about two inches thick it also acts as the vapour barrier. That means the wall does not need a separate plastic sheet.
Open-cell spray foam is lighter and costs less per inch. It works well on interior walls where the goal is sound control, such as a bedroom beside a family room or a home office beside a laundry room.
Many of the brick and frame houses near downtown Woodstock were built long before modern insulation rules. Their walls are often empty, or they hold a thin layer of old batts that has slumped to the bottom of each cavity. When those walls are opened for a renovation, spray foam insulation is the best chance to fix them for good.
If a wall still has knob-and-tube wiring, that wiring must be replaced by an electrician before any insulation goes in. We check for it during the estimate visit. The rim joist at the bottom of an old wall is often just as leaky, and it can be sealed on the same day.
Wall spray foam insulation in Woodstock usually costs between about $3 and $7 per square foot of wall. The price depends on the foam type, the thickness, and how easy the walls are to reach. Your estimate names the foam, the depth and the R-value, so you can compare quotes fairly.
Exterior wall insulation is one of the upgrades covered by Ontario's Home Renovation Savings Program, which is scheduled to run until November 30, 2026. The program asks for an energy assessment before and after the work, so the first assessment has to be booked before any insulation goes in.
Tell us which walls are open, the size of the rooms, and whether the work is a renovation or new framing. Woodstock Spray Foam Insulation will book a visit and put the wall insulation price in writing.
We insulate every part of a home, as well as barns, shops and commercial buildings.
